Superintendent Page
Dear Riverside MS/HS and Laura Irwin Elementary Students, Parents, and Community,
As we step into an exciting new academic year, I hope this letter finds you well and filled with enthusiasm for the journey ahead. It is with immense gratitude and joy that I reflect on my first year as Superintendent of Big Horn County School District #4 and extend a heartfelt welcome back to all of you.
I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for our incredible community, the dedicated educators, and the steadfast support of our parents. Together, we have fostered an environment where our students have not only excelled academically but have also developed socially and emotionally. It has been a privilege to witness the outstanding achievements of our students and staff this past year.
I am especially proud of our Academic Challenge State Championship team and our multiple Destination Imagination championships at the state level. Additionally, our impressive athletic successes, including multiple state champions, and our ranking in the top 13% for academic testing in Wyoming showcase the remarkable talent and hard work within our district. These accomplishments are a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our students, educators, and community, and I am deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to these successes.
As we look forward to year two, my commitment remains steadfast: to build a quality educational team, foster academic growth, and continue building upon the incredible success we achieved during the 2023-24 school year. I am excited to collaborate with our talented staff and engaged community members as we work towards providing a well-rounded education that nurtures character, integrity, and resilience in our students.
I encourage you to remain actively involved in your child's education and our school community. Whether through attending parent-teacher conferences, participating in our Booster Club, or joining us at school events, your involvement is crucial in reinforcing the strong connection between home and school. Together, we can send a powerful message that education is a shared responsibility, and we are all in this together.
As I move into another year of serving as your Superintendent, I feel humbled and honored by the opportunity. I truly believe that by continuing to work together, we can pave the way for a bright and promising future for our students, our community, and our beloved district. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself when you see me— I love meeting new faces and am excited to collaborate with each of you.
Great Days Ahead…..and Go Rebels!
Jory Thompson
